Don't miss Pere Bruno's visit to Houston Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 6:00pm, when he'll join us for a Haitian dinner in the backyard of the Red House (3323 Bissonnet) and update us on his ministry in Haiti!
Since 1979, St. Andrew's has partnered with Pere Jean Monique Bruno, a Haitian Episcopalian priest, to bring the light and love of Jesus Christ to the people of Haiti, the poorest country in our hemisphere. St. Andrew's supports Pere Bruno through Bethlehem Ministry, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the U.S. All gifts are fully tax-deductible and applied 100% to Pere Bruno's ministry to educate the indigent children of Haiti. Pere Bruno has started 6 schools in Haiti, with Ecole St. Barthelemy, a state-of-the-art, solar powered, Montessori school in Terrier Rouge, being the latest school where 575 students attend grades K-4.
Members of St. Andrew's currently support approximately 100 children with scholarships at $200/yr. per child including uniform, books, a hot meal and teacher salaries. Another school year is starting for the children in Haiti so don't delay in getting your sponsorship turned in!

St. Barthlemy is in the process of expansion to accommodate more children in Terrier Rouge in need of an education. The Montessori school in Limonade won an award as the best Montessori school in the Caribbean. To find out more or to sponsor a child, contact Janet Wheeler. She and her husband Rich visit Haiti regularly and have extensive knowledge about (and deep love for) everything Bethlehem Ministry is doing there.
