Committees of Session serving St. Andrew's

In the Book of Order, a committee is "appointed either to study and recommend appropriate action or to carry out directions or decisions already made by a governing body (which is the session in the local church). It shall make a full report to the governing body that created it, and its recommendations shall require action by the governing body" (G-9.0500).

Since the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has a strong emphasis on order, it is only fitting that the church organizes people into committees where individuals can share their gifts and passions.

The current committees at St. Andrew's are: Children, Youth, Spiritual Growth, Worship, Outreach, Resources, Capital Campaign, Missions, Facilities, the Officer Nominating Committe, and Church Family. All the committees are committed to following Jesus Christ through the "7 Marks of Discipleship" and empowering this congregation in worship and service as it reaches out to both the local community and the world.


Church Family Room 216 First Monday - 6:45 pm

The Church Family Committee organizes church-wide fellowship meals and events, sponsors Stephen Ministry, helps with ministry to the homebound, hospitalized, and bereaved, and coordinates community oriented events such as flu shot clinics and blood drives.

The Children's Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the care and spiritual growth of our children, including childcare, Godly Play, Sunday school, VBS, children's music, family events and service projects.




Youth Youth Wing First Tuesday - 7:00pm

The Youth Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the educational opportunities, mission trips, fellowship activities, and service projects for our middle and senior high youth.

The Spiritual Growth Committee oversees the development and leadership for our Sunday morning classes, weekday and evening classes and programs, Bible studies, small groups, spiritual renewal events, and our men's and women's retreats.

The Worship Committee approves all worship services, sacraments and home communion and is responsible for all aspects of our prayer ministry. They are also responsible to provide ushers and greeters for worship events, weddings, and memorial services.

The Outreach Committee extends hospitality to everyone who visits our church, organizes informational events for visitors, and is responsible for all external publicity and external and internal communications. They also help new members assimilate into the church family.

The Resources Committee is in charge of our annual stewardship campaign, oversees our office administration and human resources, and is responsible for our church finances.




Missions Room 215 Second Thursday-6:30pm

The Missions Committee promotes congregational education and involvement in local and international missions, oversees the financial support of our local and international missionaries. They also oversee our involvement in the community with Red Cross Disaster Relief.

The Facilities Committee oversees and manages all aspects of our church buildings (including the Red and Beige Houses), property, and utilities.




Capital Campaign Red House As Needed

The Capital Campaign Committee approves and oversees all architectural and construction plans. They also develop and implement our tithe ministry, debt reduction plans, and other financing.
