Committees of Session serving St. Andrew's

St. Andrew's encourages ministry in many ways including through committee membership where individuals can share their gifts and passions.

The current committees at St. Andrew's are: Children, Church Family, Facilities,  Mission, the Officer Nominating Committee, Outreach, Resources, Spiritual Growth, Worship, and Youth.

All the committees are committed to following Jesus Christ through the Seven Marks of Discipleship and to empowering this congregation in worship and service as we reach out to both the local community and the world.

Children

The Children's Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the care and spiritual growth of our children, including childcare, Godly Play, Sunday school, VBS, children's music, family events and service projects.




Church Family Room 216 Every other first Monday at 6:00 pm

The Church Family Committee organizes church-wide fellowship meals and events, sponsors Stephen Ministry, helps with ministry to the homebound, hospitalized, and bereaved, and coordinates community oriented events such as  blood drives.




Congregational Nominating Committee 213 Meets as needed

The Congregational Nominating committee is responsible to present the congregation with a proposed slate of officers each year. both elders and trustees. Elders and trustees serve three-year-terms. The Congregational Nominating Committee gathers recommendations for officers from congregation members early each summer.

The Facilities Committee oversees and manages all aspects of our church buildings (including the Red and Beige Houses), property, and utilities.




Mission Room 216 2nd Monday at 5:30 pm

The Mission Committee promotes congregational education and involvement in local and international missions and oversees the financial support of our local and international missionaries. They also oversee our involvement in the community with Red Cross Disaster Relief.

The Outreach Committee extends hospitality to everyone who visits our church, organizes informational events for visitors, and is responsible for all external publicity and external and internal communications. They also help new members assimilate into the church family.




Resources Room 216 2nd Monday at 6:00 pm

The Resources Committee is in charge of our annual stewardship campaign, oversees our office administration and human resources, and is responsible for our church finances.




Spiritual Growth John Melsness' office 2nd Monday at 10:00 am

The Spiritual Growth Committee oversees the development and leadership for our Sunday morning classes, weekday and evening discipleship classes and programs, Bible studies, small groups, spiritual renewal events, and our men's and women's retreats.




Worship Meets as needed

The Worship Committee approves all worship services, sacraments, and home communion and is responsible for all aspects of our prayer ministry. They are also responsible for providing ushers andgreeters for worship events, weddings, and memorial services.
